The net outflow of New Zealanders to move permanently or long term to Australia has hit its highest level in 19 years. In the year to June 2008, 31,000 Kiwis made the move to Australia, just short of the 1989 record of 32,000.
Last month alone, 2900 New Zealanders packed up and moved to Australia, 700 more than the same time last year.
