Australian Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson has announced that the Grand Pacific Drive route from just south of Sydney through to beyond Canberra is now officially open.
The Grand Pacific Drive winds through New South Wales’ most spectacular scenery and coastline, including the 665 metre Sea Cliff Bridge and has already had a massive impact on tourism numbers along its path, particularly Woolongong, which has seen a 20% increase in accommodation bookings since last year.
Mr Ferguson has suggested that he will be using the tourism marketing campaign used for the Grand Pacific Drive as a blueprint for Australian tourism because of its success.
